El inspirador discurso que dirá Meghan Markle en su gira por Sudáfrica

Según revelaron las fuentes, Meghan Markle pronunciará un inspirador discurso sobre la «violencia de género» a su llegada a Sudáfrica para su gira real. La duquesa de Sussex abordará el problema a las pocas horas de llegar a Ciudad del Cabo junto al príncipe Harry. La pareja real visitará un pueblo empobrecido la primera mañana en su visita de 10 días a África, luego de una serie de asesinatos hecho a un grupo de mujeres en Sudáfrica. Durante las ultimas semanas se generaron en todo el país después de que se produjeran las muertes.

Una de las víctimas fue la estudiante Uyinene Mrwetyana, de 19 años, quien fue violada y luego asesinada a golpes con una balanza en una oficina de correos. Según la Organización Mundial de la Salud, la tasa de mujeres asesinadas en el país es cinco veces mayor que el promedio mundial. Si bien los miembros de la familia real generalmente tienden a evitar involucrarse con la política de los países que visitan, las fuentes afirmaron que los Sussex hablarán sobre la violencia.

El programa para la gira real

Una fuente señaló al Daily Mail: “Sería extraño para ellos no abordarlo en el clima actual dado su programa oficial, particularmente el de la duquesa, el cual trata sobre asuntos relacionados con los derechos de las mujeres. «Pero, por supuesto, se hará con respeto». El palacio confirmó: «Harry y Meghan comenzarán su recorrido en un municipio de Ciudad del Cabo, donde los miembros de la realeza visitarán un taller que enseña a los niños sobre sus derechos, y ofrece clases de defensa personal y capacitación para el empoderamiento femenino para chicas jóvenes en la comunidad».

El Palacio de Buckingham también reveló que los padres volarían con su bebé Archie a Ciudad del Cabo el 23 de septiembre. Y después de varias apariciones públicas juntos, se espera que mamá Meghan se quede en Johannesburgo con Archie mientras el Príncipe Harry hace visitas a Botswana, Angola y Malawi. Según una fuente real, Meghan y Harry «esperan» dar a los fanáticos un vistazo de su hijo durante la gira, pero el bebé Archie no ha sido incluido en el calendario oficial.

Honrando el legado de su madre

Como parte de la gira, el príncipe Harry también se reunirá con la unidad militar británica que se encuentra trabajando junto a los guardaparques locales para ayudar a combatir la amenaza del comercio ilegal de vida silvestre en Malawi. El nuevo padre también hará un viaje «significativo y conmovedor» a Angola para ver el legado que dejó su madre, la Princesa Diana, en la comunidad la cual ayudó a crear conciencia sobre la amenaza que representan las minas terrestres en 1997.

El palacio señaló que si bien el príncipe Harry está ansioso por «apoyar a los jóvenes de África a alcanzar su potencial», su esposa Meghan también «trabajará con organizaciones para promover la educación, la salud, el espíritu empresarial y el liderazgo de las mujeres». También se espera que la pareja conozca al Arzobispo Desmond Tutu y a la Sra. Tutu en su fundación heredada. También hablarán con Grace Machel, la viuda del fallecido presidente Nelson Mandela, antes de que finalice la gira el 2 de octubre.

El nuevo proyecto de la duquesa

Markle recientemente terminó su licencia de maternidad de cuatro meses. La duquesa de Sussex de 38 años hizo su primera aparición para promocionar su nueva línea de ropa Smart Works en asociación de una organización benéfica británica que ayuda a las mujeres desempleadas a encontrar trabajo. Markle asistió a una recepción en una tienda por departamentos John Lewis para mostrar su colección de ropa de trabajo y accesorios la cual creó con la diseñadora y amiga Misha Nonoo.
